The Weekly Edit
On the problem with big overhaul energy, Summer shorts and the best moisturizer
I almost canceled a call I had scheduled with a ShopMy senior associate.
She had reached out because I was close to reaching a new creator tier that would unlock more brand opportunities. Exciting, right?
Except my first instinct was to dismiss it. I assumed she was going to tell me I needed to do more.
More content. More links. More posting. More, more, more.
But I kept the appointment because one of my personal mottos is: always take the call.
I can always say no to an opportunity, but I can’t say yes to one I never learn about.
To my surprise, most of her advice wasn’t about doing more at all. It was about making small tweaks to what I was already doing. I was missing out on gifted opportunities simply because my profile wasn’t set up correctly.
That’s typical me.
If something isn’t working, I immediately assume it needs to be burned down and rebuilt from scratch. I speak in hyperboles: never, always, completely, start over.
That overhaul energy can be incredibly useful when you need firm boundaries or when something genuinely needs a fresh start. But sometimes it’s a little destructive.
Sometimes the answer isn’t an overhaul. It’s a tweak.
I saw this all the time when I worked with styling clients. Because they couldn’t afford a complete wardrobe refresh, they wouldn’t sew the button back onto a favorite shirt or stop buying a new outfit for every event. Meanwhile, one simple habit, like treating stains as soon as they happen, could dramatically extend the life of the clothes they already own.
Maybe that’s the reminder we all need.
Save your overhaul energy for the things that truly need it. And for everything else, look for the small adjustment that moves you forward.
Oh, and always take the call.
And now, for the links:
1 Who’s ready for the World Cup? Love this tee but of course I’ll be sporting this one.
2 How sweet is this?
3 The sleeves on this
4 Such great Summer shorts, pair with a black tee and black flip flops.
6 Nina and I have been loving this to soothe her face after a day at the pool.
Have a fantastic weekend,
xx Priscila

A beyond excellent Lulu find!!! I love the idea of small tweaks over a reinvention. I often love to reinvent the wheel and can use this reminder.
