The Saturday Stack
Have you ever heard of a kokedama? It’s basically a moss ball plant, and I had the best time making one at a workshop at Palmera House. It was the perfect Saturday morning activity to do with a friend.
I also love these kinds of workshops because they give me a chance to feel like a complete beginner again. I fumbled my way through making it, I honestly have no idea if it will survive, and that was kind of the whole point.
Did you know being a beginner helps foster neuroplasticity? As adults, it’s rare that we allow ourselves to be new at something. But I’ve noticed these types of experiences always humble me in the best way and keep my brain feeling fresh and creative.
I left feeling so inspired. And who knows, maybe my kokedama will survive after all.
Have you tried being a beginner at something lately?
Here’s this week’s links:
1 I’m not finished with this one yet, but I have loved reading Caro Claire Burke’s books so I picked this one up. I’ll be honest, the main character isn’t as lovable as her other main characters. In fact, at times, you despise her. But it’s a very interesting take on trad wife/influencer culture.
2 Just grabbed this one and loving the pop of color
4 I can’t resist good stationary
6 Speaking of Gap, these are 40% off
Have a phenomenal weekend and if your mama is still around, at least give her call, will ya?
xx Priscila
